A South Korean satellite captured the first images of the moon's fresh crash site after a stray SpaceX rocket hit the lunar surface Wednesday. The photos reveal a darker terrain and crater. The Danuri spacecraft, operated by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, flew over the impact site multiple times and took before-and-after shots from lunar orbit. NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter is expected to survey the crash scene next week. SpaceX launched Danuri in 2022. The upper stage from a separate private lunar lander mission crashed at 5,400 mph after solar activity and gravity altered its path.
