South Korean orbiter shows Moon before and after SpaceX debris impact

South Korea released lunar orbiter images showing the Moon's surface after SpaceX rocket debris crashed into it Wednesday. KASA’s Danubri orbiter captured before-and-after images. Rocket debris struck at about 06:35 GMT; SpaceX said the impact was unintentional. The empty Falcon 9 upper stage, weighing roughly 4,000kg, hit at about 5,400mph. Falcon 9 rockets are designed for reuse, with empty upper stages shed in space. Astronomer Matt Bothwell warned crowding could make escaping Earth orbit difficult within decades.
