A South Korean satellite has captured images of a mark left on the moon when a SpaceX rocket crashed into its surface on Wednesday. The Danuri orbiter photographed before and after views near Einstein Crater. The Falcon 9 upper stage, launched in January 2025, made an unintentional, anticipated crash at about 8,700 km/h. Telescopes on Earth observed the debris plume, confirming the impact. Danuri, launched by SpaceX in 2022, has had its mission extended to 2027.
