Sofia summons Kyiv's ambassador after Ukrainian drone explodes in Bulgaria
Bulgaria summoned Ukraine's ambassador after a Ukrainian drone exploded near a gas pipeline in northeastern Bulgaria; Bulgaria ruled out a deliberate act and no casualties were reported. The drone exploded about 100 meters inside Bulgarian territory near the Kardam border crossing, roughly 1 kilometer from a Trans-Balkan pipeline compression station. Prime Minister Roumen Radev said there were no casualties or structural damage, and the incident will be discussed at NATO. Romania's Defense Ministry denied the drone crossed its airspace, saying radar detected no such trajectory. The drone reportedly carried a significant explosive load. Similar incidents in Romania and Poland have raised suspicions of Russian involvement.
