A soccer ball signed by a high school team has finally completed its space journey 30 years after the Challenger disaster. The ball was aboard the Challenger when it exploded in 1986, but was recovered and returned to the astronaut's family. In 2016, astronaut Shane Kimbrough took the ball to the International Space Station. The ball is now on display at Space Center Houston for the World Cup, linking soccer, Houston, and the space program. It will return to Clear Lake High School after the tournament.
