SMHI warns of water shortage risk in Stockholm, Uppsala, Halland, and Östergötland

SMHI has issued a risk of water shortage in several counties, including Stockholm, Uppsala, Halland, and Östergötland. This warning is due to low groundwater levels, which have also been noted in Västra Götaland, Jönköping, Kalmar, Gotland, Skåne, Kronoberg, and Blekinge counties. The situation is expected to persist for several weeks, depending on weather conditions. Low water levels can negatively impact agriculture and natural ecosystems. SMHI has not ruled out issuing further water shortage warnings in other areas.
