Slovenian poet Miroslav Košuta, a prominent voice of the Slovenian minority in Trieste, has died at age 89. Košuta, who would have turned 90 next month, was a recipient of Slovenia's highest cultural award, the Prešeren Prize, for his literary work and preservation of the Slovenian language. He led the Slovenian Stable Theatre in Trieste for 25 years and was recognized with the Rilke Prize for lifetime achievement in poetry last December.
