Sir Michael Marmot discusses social determinants of health and global health initiatives

Sir Michael Marmot's work on social determinants of health has gained significant recognition, moving from a fringe concept to a key focus for global health initiatives. His research, initially inspired by observing health disparities in Sydney, led him to UC Berkeley in the 1970s. There, he explored how social conditions impact health, a field that was then on the periphery of public health.
