Simon Rimmer announces closure of Greens restaurants after 30 years, plans new Rudy's Pizza location

TV chef Simon Rimmer has announced the closure of his Greens restaurants, which had been a staple in Didsbury for over 30 years. The first location closed in January, followed by the Sale site in September, due to unsustainable business conditions. Rimmer described the closures as "heartbreaking," marking the end of a significant chapter in his life. He noted the challenges facing the hospitality industry, highlighting that even well-regarded establishments are struggling to survive. Despite the closures, Rimmer is involved with Mission Mars and is set to open a new Rudy's Pizza location in Prestwich. This will be the ninth Rudy's in Greater Manchester, continuing the brand's expansion across the UK.
