Shrewsbury mourns teacher Marci Rubin, remembered for 15 years of impact

The Shrewsbury community is mourning the death of Marci Jill Rubin, a beloved elementary school teacher who died on July 30 after a brief battle with cancer at age 54. She taught in Shrewsbury Public Schools for over 15 years. Rubin taught primarily second grade in Shrewsbury beginning in 2010, following a 25-year teaching career. The district praised her energy and commitment, noting her lasting impact on students and colleagues at Coolidge School and Major Howard Beal School. Services were held Monday in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to IPAW Rescue or Penn State THON, a student-run philanthropy supporting pediatric cancer research.
