Shootout in Maricopa leaves one dead, officer injured

A shootout occurred outside a Circle K in Maricopa, Arizona, after police attempted to stop a man, identified as Keith Tyler Prock, 38. Prock, a known felon with outstanding warrants, was shot and killed after firing at officers. Bodycam footage shows the moments leading up to the gunfire. Prock exited the store, discarded his items, and pulled a handgun as officers pursued him. One officer was wounded and is in serious but stable condition. Prock had a history of violent crimes and was released from prison in January 2024. Three officers involved in the incident have been placed on paid administrative leave while the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office investigates.
