Shooting suspect arrested in Milan apartment after Pioltello attack
The perpetrator of a shooting in Pioltello, near Milan, has been arrested in an apartment in Sedriano, in the Milanese hinterland. The 31-year-old South American man, with a criminal record, is accused of critically wounding a 30-year-old Peruvian man. The suspect fled the Satellite district after the attack between via Cimarosa and via Leoncavallo, but was tracked down by carabinieri within hours. He was reported to authorities, though not arrested, as he was found beyond the legal timeframe for flagrante delicto. The victim remains in critical condition at San Raffaele hospital. Investigators are still working to determine the motive, considering possibilities ranging from a violent argument to a settling of scores. They are also examining a knife found along the escape route and investigating whether a second person acted as an accomplice.
