Shiv Sena's Raut questions CEO appointment at Ram Mandir trust

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut alleged on Thursday that the appointment of a CEO for the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust marks the beginning of the "corporatisation" of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He said, "When there is business, there is CEO." The temple trust appointed retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra as its first CEO and Govind Dev Giri as general secretary on Wednesday, an overhaul amid allegations of theft of donations. Mishra, who retired in April 2026, said he learned of his appointment via news and has yet to receive official communication. Mishra previously commanded the Indian Air Force's Western Air Command during Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, after the Pahalgam terror attack. The standard operating procedure for the CEO's role has not yet been finalised, according to Giri.
