Shedd Aquarium unveils new Wonder of Water exhibit and refreshed rotunda

Shedd Aquarium has opened a new exhibit called Wonder of Water, replacing the former Caribbean Reef. This exhibit features two large tanks showcasing freshwater and saltwater ecosystems, highlighting living corals and over 1,500 fish, unlike the previous display. The aquarium has also refreshed its Amazon Rising gallery, adding more space and interactive features. A redesigned entrance now includes an art installation of 1,600 fish representing Lake Michigan species, improving accessibility and visitor experience. Future renovations are planned for 2026, including expanded learning facilities and redesigned exhibits. These updates are part of the Shedd's strategic plan leading up to its centennial in 2030.
