Shankland double helps Rangers to back-to-back wins at Falkirk

Lawrence Shankland scored twice to lead Rangers to a 2-1 win over Falkirk, securing back-to-back Scottish Premiership victories after a difficult start to the season. The captain's goals, both with his left foot, proved decisive in an error-strewn match, with his second arriving shortly after he missed a clear chance. Falkirk boss John McGlynn said Shankland's impact was such that he would have won the game for his own team. Shankland joined Rangers in May after scoring 60 goals in three seasons at Hearts, and now has three goals in four league games this term. Midfielder Nicolas Raskin returned to the starting lineup despite a Besiktas loan bid, while Rangers accepted a £1m loan offer for Thelo Aasgaard.
