Seoul National University researchers create battery-free wearable system for electrocardiogram measurement

medicalxpress.com

Seoul National University researchers developed a battery-free wearable system, SkinECG, that measures electrocardiogram signals. The system uses energy harvesting and body-coupled power transfer to supply electricity wirelessly to the ECG sensor, overcoming the challenge of separate optimal locations for energy harvesting and signal measurement. This technology could enable continuous, long-term monitoring for various physiological signals and is seen as a foundational solution for future wearable and implantable medical devices.
