A 68-year-old man was allegedly defrauded of ₹1.37 crore by Dr. Abhinav Khare, who ran Spandan Multispecialty Hospital in Thergaon. The doctor promised the victim a 50% partnership and high returns on his investment. The victim, who had been receiving treatment for asthma, was persuaded to invest after the doctor learned about his retirement funds. However, the hospital was later closed, and the promised returns never came. The police have filed a complaint against Dr. Khare, citing sections 316 and 318 of the BNS. The case was reported after the victim was unable to contact the doctor for updates on his investment.
