Security increased in Mizoram for Amit Shah's visit

Security has been increased in Mizoram ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit on Saturday. He will attend a function to relocate Assam Rifles establishments from Aizawl to Zokhawsang, 15 km away. Additional forces from the Border Security Force and Central Reserve Police Force are deployed to ensure safety during the visit. Shah's arrival is scheduled for 1:45 PM, with the relocation event at 3 PM. The relocation agreement was signed in October 2023 and will take effect in April. This move follows a long-standing demand for the Assam Rifles to leave Aizawl's center after past violent incidents.
