Security forces in Chhattisgarh have discovered two hideouts used by Maoists and seized a large amount of firearms and explosives. The raids took place in Sukma district on March 22, 2025. Teams from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), including the CoBRA unit and local security forces, conducted the operations. They acted on a tip-off that led them to the forested areas around Markanguda village and Mettaguda village. During the searches, they found various weapons and ammunition. This included six single-barrel rifles, two 12-bore rifles, a country-made rifle, and 20 live shells for a barrel grenade launcher. They also recovered detonators, splinters, wires, and other explosives-related materials. Authorities believe these materials were hidden by the Maoists to prepare for attacks on security personnel patrolling the area. The operations highlight ongoing efforts to combat Maoist activities in the region.
