Scientists create reference-quality genome for RPE-1 human cell line

phys.org

Scientists created the first reference-quality genome assembly for the widely used RPE-1 human cell line, improving experimental accuracy. This new assembly, RPE1v1.1, provides a complete, haplotype-resolved diploid genome, crucially resolving centromeres which are often fragmented in general human references. The RPE-1 cell line is a vital model in biology, and this matched genome will enhance the precision of genomic and epigenomic studies performed using it.
