Science Roadshow engages Clutha students with hands-on learning experiences
The National Science Technology Trust Roadshow visited South Otago High School last week, engaging around 200 students from local schools. They explored hands-on science exhibits, including a spinning chair to learn about G-force and a hand-cycle to understand calorie expenditure. Clutha District Mayor Bryan Cadogan participated in the demonstrations, highlighting real-life applications of scientific concepts. South Otago High School science teacher Chris Sly noted the importance of making science relatable and exciting for students. The Roadshow Trust, a registered charity, has reached approximately 47,000 students annually since 1988, aiming to spark curiosity and interest in science among young learners.
