Schoolgirl admits to lying about teacher's Islamophobia in case linked to his murder in France
A Muslim schoolgirl has admitted in court that she lied about her teacher, Samuel Paty, claiming he was Islamophobic. Her false accusations led to Paty's murder by a jihadist in 2020. She apologized to his family, stating she feared her parents' reaction after being suspended. Paty was killed by Abdoullakh Anzorov, an 18-year-old Islamist, after a campaign of harassment fueled by the girl's claims. The girl, who was 13 at the time, had not been present during the incident she described. Her father is accused of helping to incite the online harassment. The trial of eight individuals connected to Paty's murder is ongoing in Paris. Charges include association with a terrorist organization and complicity in murder. The trial is expected to last until December 20.
