Two elderly women in Campo Grande were defrauded of over R$40,000 by scammers impersonating Superior Court of Justice (STJ) officials. The criminals contacted victims via WhatsApp, posing as lawyers, then conducted video calls claiming to be STJ employees. They guided the women to access banking apps and make transfers, promising judicial payments. The incidents, totaling R$29,094 and R$11,100 respectively, were reported to the police. The victims became suspicious when asked to take out loans or after unauthorized transactions were discovered.
