Saxophonist and improviser Gary Hassay, a founding member of improvisationalmusicco., inc., died September 13, 2025, at age 77. Hassay performed for over 35 years on saxophone and Tibetan throat singing, releasing over 20 albums, including one Grammy-nominated. He collaborated with numerous musicians and incorporated visual arts into his performances. He was a Vietnam veteran and a computer professional. His wife, Pamela Fearing, also an arts administrator, died in 2016.
