Saurabh Joshi becomes Chandigarh mayor, following his father's footsteps

Saurabh Joshi was sworn in as the new Mayor of Chandigarh on Thursday, stepping into the role his late father, Jairam Joshi, a former BJP president, once held. Joshi, who first engaged with the BJP at age 10, aims for the city's overall development with a focus on public-centric, time-bound projects. He plans to address issues like water and garbage charges, financial stability of the Municipal Corporation, and the city's parking problems. He also expressed support for a five-year mayoral term and emphasized maintaining strong coordination with the Chandigarh administration, noting the UT administrator's supportive stance.
