Saudi Arabia: 3 killed in Riyadh airport attack as missile hits grounded plane
Saudi Arabia's civil aviation authority confirmed that three civilians were killed and several wounded in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, with a missile striking a Saudi Arabian Airlines aircraft on the ground. The first strike targeted airport facilities, while the second hit the national carrier's plane, causing injuries ranging from minor to serious and material damage. Airport operations have since resumed, though AFP earlier reported three aircraft were affected. Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis claimed responsibility, saying they launched two cruise missiles at Riyadh and also targeted airports in Najran and Khamis Mushait. Saudi authorities confirmed interceptions but noted debris from one missile damaged a kindergarten and medical center.
