Sanofi ends STAT6 degrader program from Nurix collaboration
Sanofi has terminated the phase 1 clinical trial of SAR448272, an oral STAT6 degrader developed under its collaboration with Nurix Therapeutics, and discontinued the entire program. Nurix will not receive future development, regulatory, or commercial milestone payments or royalties tied to SAR448272. Nurix remains eligible for milestone payments and royalties from other licensed programs under the collaboration that Sanofi may advance. The company confirmed its cash runway guidance is unaffected, reporting $1.1 billion in cash and equivalents as of August 31, 2026, sufficient to fund operations through the second half of 2029. The collaboration began in 2019, and Sanofi exercised a license extension option in 2025 covering two transcription factor programs, including the now-discontinued STAT6. Nurix retains co-development and co-promotion rights in the U.S. for the remaining program. Other active clinical programs include bexobrutideg with Roche, NX-1607, and GS-6791/NX-0479 with Gilead.
