Sandman will race in Preakness 2025

Sandman, winner of the Arkansas Derby, is expected to compete in the 150th Preakness Stakes on May 17th, after initially planning to skip the race. The colt will ship to Pimlico on Monday. Other potential contenders include Kentucky Derby runner-up Journalism, and undefeated Goal Oriented, trained by Bob Baffert. Gosger, American Promise, Pay Billy, Clever Again, and River Thames are also being considered. The Preakness Stakes field will be officially announced Monday. The race will be held at Pimlico Race Course, with the winner potentially impacting the Triple Crown.
