San Bernardino officer fatally shoots armed driver during traffic stop
A San Bernardino police officer fatally shot a driver during a traffic stop on November 7. The driver, Albert Jose Rodriguez Jr., 48, was a known gang member and reached for a loaded gun while trying to flee. Officers stopped Rodriguez for multiple violations. He resisted arrest, leading to a struggle. As he drove away with one officer trapped inside, the officer shot him after he reached for his weapon. Rodriguez was taken to a hospital but later died. Police found suspected narcotics in his vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the San Bernardino Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office.
