Samsung begins mass production of high-performance SSD for PCs

Samsung has started mass production of its new SSD for PCs, named PM9E1. This PCIe 5.0-based product claims to have the highest performance and largest capacity in the industry. The PM9E1 features a 5 nm controller and 8th-generation V-NAND technology. It offers reading speeds of 14.5 GB/s and writing speeds of 13 GB/s, suitable for demanding AI applications. Samsung plans to provide the PM9E1 in various storage sizes, including 512 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB. The SSD will first be available to global PC manufacturers before reaching consumers.
