Salaar re-releases, earns Rs 3.24 crore opening day

The film "Salaar" made a strong return to theaters on March 21, 2025, earning Rs 3.24 crore on its opening day. Originally released in 2023, the movie had grossed over Rs 700 crore worldwide. It received high praise for its storytelling and action scenes. This special re-release of "Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire" did not screen in Northern India, yet it still performed well at the box office. The earnings were notably higher than the Rs 1.6 crore earned by "Tumbbad" during its re-release. Directed by Prashanth Neel, who is known for the KGF franchise, "Salaar" stars Prabhas as Deva, a prince in exile. The cast includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu. The film takes place in a fictional city-state called Khansaar, where palace betrayals unfold. Following the success of the first installment, a sequel titled "Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam" is in production. Filming for the sequel began in August 2024. Prabhas is also busy with several other projects. He will appear in "The Raja Saab," set to release on April 10, 2025. Additionally, he is working on "Spirit," directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and "Kalki Part 2," where he will reprise his role from "Kalki 2898 AD." Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel is developing a new film called "Dragon," featuring Jr NTR, which is scheduled for release on January 9, 2026.
