Sal barrage nears completion, expected to boost water supply in Bardez within three months

The Sal barrage is 70% complete and is expected to be operational in three months, providing an additional 250 million liters per day of raw water. This project, costing around Rs 300 crore, will significantly benefit Bardez taluka by increasing drinking water supply and preventing monsoon flooding from the Chapora river. The barrage will also support irrigation and ensure water availability during the Tillari reservoir's annual maintenance, addressing shortages in areas like Calangute and Guirim.
