Sakata schoolchildren learn robot programming at Yamagata workshop

A robotics and AI programming workshop for schoolchildren, held in Sakata City, Yamagata, taught 21 students hands-on manufacturing skills during the summer break. Hosted at the Shonai Campus of Yamagata Prefectural Industrial Technology Junior College, the "Naruhodo Workshop" offered three courses led by professors and students. Participants built AI games, trained AI to recognize hand gestures, and controlled a mobile robot through programming. Attendees ranged from fifth graders to second-year junior high school students. One participant said the programming was extremely fun, while another expressed a desire to become a programmer and continue studying AI.
