Sailor Arthur Farley wins esailing world championship after cancer battle
Arthur Farley, a sailor from the Isle of Wight, recently won the esailing world championship after a year-long battle with hairy cell leukaemia. His diagnosis halted his sailing career, but he turned to competitive gaming during treatment. Farley, 20, had to undergo extensive chemotherapy, which kept him away from sailing. He used this time to hone his skills in esailing, ultimately defeating over 50,000 competitors to claim the title after finishing second in previous years. Now back in sailing, Farley finished 10th in the under-21 championships. He aims for the Olympics and plans to use his £5,000 prize to support his training and seek sponsorship.
