Saga's Miyaki Town excluded from hometown tax system over rule violations

Saga Prefecture's Miyaki Town has been excluded from the "Furusato Nozei" hometown tax donation system for two years due to rule violations. The town exceeded the 50% limit for procurement and shipping costs for return gifts, with expenses reaching approximately 1.865 billion yen out of 3.119 billion yen in donations. Miyaki Town's mayor apologized for the inconvenience and stated that essential services will continue using reserve funds, while also questioning the fairness of the system.
