Sacked KPMG executive sues firm over lost entitlements

Former KPMG executive Eileen Hoggett is suing the firm after being expelled with the loss of all financial entitlements over allegedly keeping sensitive board documents in her locker. The NSW Supreme Court confirmed a summons has been lodged, with a first hearing set for September 23. Hoggett was sacked in July by new CEO John Sams after evidence supported a whistleblower’s claim that Lendlease board documents were stored in her locker at KPMG’s Sydney office, which were used to win business with other clients. She had previously denied the documents were there. Hoggett told a parliamentary hearing she faces a significant financial penalty, losing accrued annual leave, retirement payments from 21 years as a partner, and her final month’s pay. She said she is still trying to ascertain the reason for her unprecedented dismissal.
