Rylee Foster returns to professional soccer with Everton after serious car accident
Canadian goalkeeper Rylee Foster has returned to professional soccer after surviving a serious car accident in October 2021. The crash left her with multiple severe injuries, including fractures and a subdural hematoma, requiring extensive rehabilitation. Foster was released by Liverpool after her recovery but signed with New Zealand's Wellington Phoenix in September 2023. She made her comeback on October 14, 2023, after 731 days away from the game. In October 2024, Foster signed a short-term contract with Everton, where she is currently a backup goalkeeper. She continues to manage the effects of her injuries but expresses gratitude for her recovery and the opportunity to play again.
