Rwanda sees recoveries outpace fatalities in Marburg virus outbreak

Rwanda is reporting progress in its fight against the Marburg virus disease, with more recoveries than fatalities. As of now, 61 people have been infected, with 14 deaths and 18 recoveries. No new infections have been detected in the last three days. The country has administered 620 doses of the Marburg vaccine to frontline workers and received an additional 1,000 doses. Health Minister Sabin Nsanzimana confirmed that all cases are linked to a hospital cluster, with no evidence of community transmission. Rwanda is reviewing its health guidelines and will update protocols soon. Authorities continue to urge residents to follow health guidelines as the country works to eliminate the outbreak.
