Russian Strike on Energy Grid Leaves 100,000 Without Power in Chernihiv Region

A Russian attack on an energy facility in a region neighboring Chernihiv Oblast has left approximately 100,000 subscribers without power. The outage affects four districts in Chernihiv Oblast. The Chernihivoblenergo press service reported the blackout early on September 22, impacting subscribers in Koriukivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi, Nizhyn, and Chernihiv districts. Energy workers are currently working to restore electricity supply. This incident follows recent DTEK restoration of power to over 560,000 families in four oblasts after Russian strikes. Additionally, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal stated Ukraine's energy sector needs at least $91 billion over the coming decades for reconstruction and new investments.
