Russian Navy calls UK's submarine interception claim absurd
A Russian Navy source dismissed reports of a British "interception" of a Russian submarine as absurd. The source stated Russian submarines operate freely and cannot be intercepted. The source, speaking to RIA Novosti, clarified that the submarine was transiting the English Channel in accordance with international maritime law. The source added that the submarine was returning to its base after completing tasks in the Mediterranean Sea. This response follows reports in British media, and earlier by German media, about the Royal Navy's alleged interception of the "Krasnodar" submarine near France.
