Russian expert: FPV drones from Shahed over Kyiv rarely used, low effectiveness

Ukrainian military expert Serhiy Beskrestnov, known as "Flash," said Russian forces have used FPV drones launched from Shahed drones for over a year, but the tactic's effectiveness is very low. He commented after such a drone was spotted over the Kyiv region. Beskrestnov stated that two FPV drones can be attached to a Shahed or Gerbera drone and controlled via an LTE modem. However, the drones frequently lose connection and crash, so Russia uses this tactic rarely, about once every one or two weeks. He added that FPVs cannot be mounted on jet-powered Shaheds due to airflow. The monitoring channel eRadar previously reported a Shahed carrying FPV drones in the Kyiv region. This marks a rare instance of the tactic being used in the capital area, as the carrier can deliver smaller drones over long distances, though control issues limit its deployment.
