Russian drone strikes SBU chief's Kyiv office; Zelenskyy orders response

A Russian drone struck the office of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) head Oleksandr POKLAD in central Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on Thursday, September 4. He ordered a response. The drone hit the SBU's central building on Volodymyrska Street opposite St. Sophia Cathedral. Zelenskyy said the drone was directed straight at Poklad's office, though sources say the general was not present at the time. Emergency services are working at the scene. The attack marks the ninth day of continuous Russian Shahed drone strikes on the capital. Five people were injured, four hospitalized, and a restaurant near the cathedral was destroyed. A fire at an industrial site in Brovary caused temporary air quality deterioration.
