Russian Drone Strikes Push Major Ukrainian Businesses to Brink
Ukrainian business leaders whose companies were hit by Russian drone attacks told NV about the damage they suffered and their recovery plans. The strikes have caused hundreds of millions of hryvnias in losses, with logistics centers, factories, and data centers across the country affected. The distribution center of the Toy House retail chain near Kyiv was destroyed in late August, with losses estimated in the hundreds of millions of hryvnias. Other major victims include Nova Poshta logistics hubs, Rozetka marketplace facilities, the Reeva noodle factory, the Cersanit ceramics plant, textile producer Textile-Contact, pharmaceutical company Darnitsa, and about a dozen Kyiv data centers. Most damaged sites are located 20-30 kilometers from the capital along major highways, though the problem extends beyond the Kyiv region. Business leaders are now assessing whether these attacks push major Ukrainian enterprises toward bankruptcy or if recovery remains possible.
