Russian bomb strikes elderly care home in Ukraine, one dead, 14 injured

A Russian guided bomb struck the Sumy Geriatric Boarding House in Ukraine, killing a 78-year-old woman and injuring 14 others. The attack occurred while around 300 people were inside, including over 200 patients and 60 staff members. The bombing severely damaged the building, particularly the fifth floor. Local officials reported that many injured individuals are in serious condition and have been hospitalized. The acting mayor condemned the attack on vulnerable civilians. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russian forces used nearly 90 guided bombs in one day. He plans to visit the U.S. next week to discuss military support and Ukraine's strategic planning with President Biden and Vice President Harris.
