Russia tests new missile with dummy warheads in strike on Ukraine
A new Russian missile fired at Dnipro, Ukraine, last week carried multiple dummy warheads without explosives, causing limited damage. This aligns with Russia's claim that the strike was a warning to the West following Ukraine's missile use against Russia. U.S. officials believe Russia has only a few of these experimental intermediate-range missiles, derived from the RS-26 design. The missile's flight distance was about 700 km, much shorter than its potential range of over 5,000 km. Russian President Vladimir Putin described the strike as a successful test and stated that Russia would continue to use the missile in combat. Ukraine is reportedly developing air defense systems to counter this new threat.
