Russia Downs 416 Ukrainian Drones in Overnight Attack on Moscow and Other Regions

Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 416 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on September 3, according to Russia's Ministry of Defense. The attack occurred in multiple waves, with 64 drones shot down on approach to Moscow alone. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported the drone interceptions in successive statements throughout the night, with the total rising from 37 to 64. Emergency services are working at debris fall sites, while other Russian regions, including Rostov Oblast, also faced attacks with about twenty drones destroyed over Taganrog and seven districts, with no casualties reported.
