Russia and North Korea launch direct flights
Russia and North Korea will launch direct flights between their capitals on July 27th, strengthening ties between the two nations. This marks the first direct air service between Moscow and Pyongyang. The flights, lasting approximately eight hours, will initially operate monthly to establish demand. This announcement follows Russia's authorization of Nordwind to operate up to two weekly flights. The move comes after a visit by the Russian Foreign Minister. This development follows a 2024 treaty including mutual defense in case of aggression. Russia and North Korea have also re-established direct rail service and are expanding transportation cooperation, reflecting their deepening strategic partnership.
