Rural Development Minister orders random checks of VB-G RAM G scheme works
Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered random inspections of works under the VB-G RAM G scheme, warning that fraud and irregularities will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Addressing officials at a national workshop on Thursday, Chouhan stressed the need for a robust monitoring mechanism from the outset. He directed that workers receive employment without delays and timely wage payments, while also emphasizing adherence to the prescribed 60% wage and 40% material ratio at the district level. The VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, launched in July, replaced the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005. Chouhan called for strict action against violators and appreciation for those implementing works according to prescribed standards.
