Runner aims to break British record for crossing Australia in 60 days

Jack Pitcher, a 28-year-old ultra-marathon runner from Bracknell, is attempting to break the British record for running across Australia. He aims to complete the 2,684-mile journey from Perth to Sydney in 60 days, surpassing the current record of 77 days. Pitcher started the challenge with fellow runner Joshua Smith, who is now biking the remaining distance due to an injury. Pitcher is currently running 16 hours a day to meet his goal, having faced extreme weather and physical challenges along the way. The run, which began in early October, also serves as a fundraiser for SSAFA and ARC Wokingham. Pitcher hopes to inspire others struggling with mental health issues through his journey.
