RSS co-creator introduces Real Simple Licensing protocol for AI data

A new protocol, Real Simple Licensing (RSL), has launched to enable AI companies to license vast amounts of training data. RSL aims to address the growing problem of copyright lawsuits in the AI industry by providing a scalable, machine-readable system for data licensing, backed by major publishers like Reddit and Yahoo. The system includes technical specifications for publishers to define licensing terms and a collective licensing organization to negotiate and collect royalties, similar to music licensing bodies.
